DESCRIPTION:PETZL MOUNTAIN SPORTS & RESCUE CYPRUS ORIENTEERING LEAGUE 2023 – EVENT 10 – SOUNI – Sunday 22nd October 2023.\n\nLocation: Registration\, start and finish will be at https://maps.app.goo.gl/KTCw3CzPFUCiohNU8.  Park on roads and verges where convenient.  Do NOT drive round to admin area.  There are houses in the area\, so please have consideration for residents. \nTimings: Registration will be available from 1015 hrs and the course will be open from 1030 hrs. Last start will be at 1130 hrs and the course will close at 1300 hrs. No starts will be available after 1130 hrs. \nCourses: Three courses will be available: \nBlue Course – A technically difficult course of approximately 5.1 km. \nRed Course  –   A less technical course of approximately 3.6 km. \nYellow Course – A simpler beginner’s course\, suitable for children\, of approximately 2.3 km. \nTo participate\, please fill up the form at this link.

DESCRIPTION:PETZL MOUNTAIN SPORTS & RESCUE CYPRUS ORIENTEERING LEAGUE 2023 – EVENT 9 – Kalavasos Night Sprint – Saturday 30th September 2023.\n\nEvent Organiser: Pyxida Lemesos Club \nLocation: Registration\, start and finish will take place beside the football stadium on the East side of the village. https://maps.app.goo.gl/wGgrmQ7JBBkpheB98. \nTravel: From the Limassol highway take the exit for Kalavasos (Zygi exit) and follow the E106 to the village. \nTimings: Registration will be available from 1900 hrs and the course will be open from 1915 hrs. Last start will be at 2015 hrs and the course will close at 2130 hrs. No starts will be available after 2015 hrs. \nCourses: Three courses will be available: \nBlue Course – A technically difficult course of approximately 2.9 km. \nRed Course  –   A less technical course of approximately 2.1 km. \nYellow Course – A simpler beginner’s course\, suitable for children\, of approximately 1.4 km. \nTerrain: This is an urban Cypriot village on a short\, steep hillside\, with a maze of narrow\, twisting streets\, either tarmac or cobbled and with some steps in places. There is good visibility and fast running. There will be normal Saturday night traffic (pedestrians\, motorbikes and cars) to residnetial housing and commercail venues. Thus\, runners are cautioned to take care. \nMap: The 1:4\,000 ‘Kalavasos’ Map drawn in 2023 by Peter Smith will be used. This is a new map and has not been used before. Maps will be pre-marked. Loose control descriptions will be available. Please bring a clear waterproof map bag if the weather looks wet. \nEquipment: Runners are to provide their own compass and whistle. A whistle check will be made before the start for your own safety! Full leg coverage is recommended. Sport-ident electronic timing will be used. Own Sport-ident cards may be used. Hire of Sport-ident card is charged at €2 but please note that loss of hired Sport-ident card will be charged at €40 each. \nNEW SI Card for purchase:  We have some new SI cards for purchase at €35 each. Please indicate in the form if you wish to purchase one and you can collect and pay for it at registration on the day. \nFacilities: There are no toilets available except at nearby restaurants/cafes.  Refreshments may be purchased from nearby restaurants/cafes. Please bring your own water.. \nEntry Fee: An entry fee of €4.00 per person will be charged for local club members (not including SI card hire which is €2.00) payable on the day at registration. Children under twelve are half price. Children under five are FREE! For non local Club members the entry fee is €6 per person (not including SI card hire which is €2.00). Please note that any late entries after Thursday 28th September\, will be charged DOUBLE entry fees\, so please register in time.  \nLeague Event: This event will count towards The Petzl Mountain Sports & Rescue Cyprus Orienteering League 2023 points. All members of local Orienteering Clubs in Cyprus will receive points as per the 2023 format rules.
